Worship is at the heart of the Methodist tradition: we believe that when we gather together for worship we enter into a time of personal reflection, reverence, and learning. Through our prayers, our scripture readings, our hymnody, and the spoken word, we each have the opportunity to encounter and form a relationship with Christ Jesus.
Unlike some others in the Christian family, Wesley Methodist is not a creedal church; that is, we do not require members or participants to sign or adhere to a specific statement of faith or belief. We do look to scripture, however, as the foundation of our Christian faith and we desire to open ourselves up to God’s Word as revealed through that scripture. We learn as well from those who have gone before us in the Christian tradition, and seek to grow in knowledge and discipleship throughout our lives.
